Your RoleKuehne+Nagel is embarking on an exciting journey to enhance our operational excellence through the implementation of a Global Observability Platform. This platform will leverage the powerful capabilities of Grafana LGTM (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, and Mimir). Our goal is to create a unified observability solution that provides comprehensive insights into our applications, services, and infrastructure across the entire organization.
Key Objectives:Unified Monitoring and Analysis: Integrate logs, metrics, traces, and events into a single platform to provide a holistic view of system performance and health.Enhanced Performance and Reliability: Ensure optimal performance and reliability of our services by quickly identifying and resolving issues.Observability Culture: Foster a culture of observability within Kuehne+Nagel, empowering teams with the tools and knowledge to proactively monitor and improve their services.Your ResponsibilitiesAssist development teams in implementing best practices in observability.Help instrument Java applications to ensure comprehensive monitoring and tracing.Create and maintain tooling to facilitate the use of the observability platform.Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports using Grafana LGTM.Create self-service mechanisms to empower clients to autonomously create and manage their own dashboards, alerts, and reports.Establish governance frameworks and guidelines to ensure consistent and effective use of the observability platform.Provide training and support to teams to promote the adoption of observability practices.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate observability practices into the development lifecycle.Engage in infrastructure-related tasks, including learning and working with Kubernetes and Terraform.Your Skills and ExperiencesExperience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, OpenSearch, and similar technologies.Proficiency in Java and experience with application instrumentation.Knowledge of any component of the Grafana LGTM stack is advantageous.Familiarity with standards like OpenTelemetry.Experience with agents/collectors such as Grafana Agent, Fluentd, FluentBit, Prometheus, etc.Experience with containerized applications; deployment in Kubernetes is a plus.Knowledge of cloud environments and services.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Versatility and interest in learning and working with Kubernetes and Terraform.Passion for promoting a culture of observability and continuous improvement.Good Reasons to JoinYou will have a direct influence on the future of logistics and IT.
