We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Registrar and Logistics Coordinator/Art Coordinator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing our logistics and collection management processes.
This position is perfect for individuals seeking an entry-level to mid-level role within the art industry, especially those with a background in art and/or logistics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Logistics Management: Oversee all artwork transactions, including the organization of shipping, packaging, and customs procedures to ensure efficient and safe transportation.
Collection Management: Track and manage artwork movements, consignments, and loan agreements, ensuring that all records are accurate and up to date.
Exhibition Preparation: Prepare artwork for exhibitions, private views, and art fairs, ensuring timely delivery and proper handling.
Inventory Control: Conduct and organize inventory counts, manage cataloging and condition reporting of artworks across multiple locations, including on-site storage, artist studios, and exhibition loans.
Database Management: Maintain an accurate and comprehensive artwork inventory database, prioritizing details such as location, condition, and framing.
Vendor Communication: Liaise with vendors, shippers, insurers, and customs officers to facilitate seamless logistics operations.
Process Optimization: Analyze and optimize logistics processes, managing outsourced personnel to boost efficiency in artwork handling and movement.
Storage Management: Management of the storage facilities, ensuring artworks are stored safely, effectively, and with appropriate environmental controls.
QUALIFICATIONS Education: Degree in Conservation and Restoration is preferred.
Experience: Previous knowledge of art handling, logistics, or collections management is preferred.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a team environment.

This is an in-person position located at Barreiro (Lisbon area), with standard hours from Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm, with flexibility for special events and exhibition schedules.
