Nortempo Porto is currently looking for a Junior Buyer (m/f) for a client in the area of Porto.
RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN TASKS
1. Responsible for procuring equipment, spares, consumables and services for the unit - in accordance with the specification provided, at the best possible price and at the required time for all;
2. Maintain records as required by the internal and external procedures and regulations;
3. Prepare the Requests for Quotation (RFQ) in accordance with the requests. The RFQs shall include all technical, commercial and quality requirements;
4. Source, coordinate qualification and select suitable suppliers, manufacturers and vendors;
5. Issue the RFQs to the selected suppliers;
6. Expedite and obtain suitable quotations and to co-ordinate technical clarifications and communications during bidding. Negotiate with suppliers and obtain the best price for goods and services;
7. Review quotations and issue the cost comparison sheets when required;
8. Prepare the purchase recommendations;
9. Prepare and issue the Purchase Order (POs);
10. Verify the acknowledgement of POs;
11. Prepare weekly progress report on purchasing activities (PIR, RFQ, PR and PO status).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Specific skills / expertise / product:
1. Knowledge of materials import/export procedures and regulations;
2. Familiar with purchasing regulations and legislation in the country of operation;
3. Familiar with materials administration and purchasing systems, preferably ERP;
4. Fluent in written and spoken English;
5. At least 1 year of experience in goods purchasing processes.
