We are looking for an Release Manager
Profile: We are seeking an experienced Release Manager to join our dynamic team working in a microservices-based environment framework. As a Release Manager, you will play a critical role in managing, coordinating, and overseeing the release of new software versions, ensuring that all software releases are delivered on time, within scope, and of the highest quality. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and have experience working in a fast-paced agile environment.
Responsibilities:
* Release Planning and Coordination:
* Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, product owners, and operations to plan and schedule deployments/releases.
* Manage the release calendar and ensure coordination across teams to avoid conflicts or delays.
* Ensure the release process aligns with the agile framework and sprint cycles.
* Microservices Release Management:
* Oversee the release of microservices across multiple environments (development, staging, production).
* Ensure deployment and rollback procedures are set in place for microservices in cloud or containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
* Release Documentation and Communication:
* Create and maintain release notes, and ensure that other essential documentation is available (for example, deployment guide).
* Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding release schedules, status updates, and any blockers.
* Ensure proper release documentation is available for every release, including dependencies and impacted services.
* Risk and Issue Management:
* Identify and mitigate risks related to release schedules, dependencies, and infrastructure.
* Ensure the proactive identification of issues during the release cycle and work with the corresponding teams (DevOps, security, development, etc.) to resolve them in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with teams to improve the release management process and tools to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
* Implement and refine best practices for microservices release management in an agile environment.
* Ensure the release process scales effectively as the system and team grow.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Release Manager in a microservices environment.
* Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, including participation in sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily standups.
* Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, etc.).
* Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
* Experience in deployment automation, version control, and monitoring tools is a plus.
* Understanding of microservices architecture and service-oriented design.
* Familiarity with Git, Jira, and other collaboration and tracking tools is desirable.
* Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and alerting tools such as ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar is a plus.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
* Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
* Proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify potential issues early and take corrective action.
* Certifications (Optional):
* Release Management Certifications (e.g., ITIL).
* Cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, or Azure) are a plus.
* Good level of English.
