Mechanical Design Engineer - RAS SystemsThe role is to design a RAS system for bivalves, including an automated solution for cultivating bivalves. This will be done in collaboration with the systems, algae growing (photo bioreactor) and aquaculture research teams.
Work in conjunction with the software team to incorporate system sensors, video and sound feeds, and automated controls. In addition, work with a patent lawyer to understand patentable aspects of the solution.
The output will be a detailed technical design of a production prototype system, which will also form the basis for next funding rounds.
The role is expected to last 6 months initially.
RequirementsIndustrial or mechanical engineering post graduate degreeExperience, or at least demonstrable interest, in aquaculture RAS systemsAbility to source parallel industry knowledge and apply that to the new requirementsResearch already patented solutions and navigate around themDelivered detailed engineering designsLogisticsBased in Loulé, Portugal but it will be mostly remote work with occasional travel to Olhão, PortugalStakeholders will be the CTO & senior management teamThis is a paid role - salary to be discussed at interviewStart date: Feb / Mar, depending on candidateContact InformationOceano Platónico
