Job Title: Air Base Squadron Deputy
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a deputy in an air base squadron with over 250 funded authorizations. The incumbent works closely with the commander to oversee day-to-day support activities across various functions, including Civil Engineer, Contracting, and Force Support.
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have at least one year of experience in a GS-12 or equivalent position. This includes working with large organizations that provide budgeting, resources, contracting, meals, lodging, recreation, building maintenance, and other functional support services to an installation with multiple buildings, facilities, roads, and acreage.
Key responsibilities include:
* Working with complex organizations and understanding budgeting, resources, and contracting concepts.
* Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
* Understanding of manpower, personnel, and services concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations, programs, and practices.
* Practical knowledge of education, readiness, and budget execution concepts, principles, operations, and practices.
* Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing available community resources within the program framework.
* Ability to plan, organize, and direct functions, mentor, motivate, and appraise staff through subordinate supervisors.
Requirements:
To be eligible, applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet these requirements. Additionally, candidates must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities in areas such as large organization management, safety and security regulations, and financial management practices.
