Accounting Specialist/Financial Controller Job Description
We are recruiting an Accounting Specialist/Financial Controller to join our Financial Governance department as part of the Lisbon Hub, responsible for 12 SL entities globally.
You will be integrated into an international, young, and dynamic team focused on being Accounting Topic Experts. Your mission will be to support, advise, and add value to the business by ensuring accurate accounting treatments in company records.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide guidance to business and local organizations on complex IFRS transactions as part of the SL Corporate Finance Accounting (HQ)
2. Advise and challenge project commercials on their accounting-related assumptions to ensure a true and fair view in project accounting (e.g., accruals, provisions, and asset positions)
3. Develop an understanding of the underlying business and associated risks impacting books and records
4. Perform regular monthly/quarterly controls using standard financial governance reports and support creation of new reports/controls for new processes/risk mitigation
5. Regular critical reviews of Balance Sheets to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial statements and processes
6. Error reporting and management: report to SL CF AC and implement mitigation measures
Requirements:
1. Degree in Business Administration, Accounting & Finance, or similar
2. Fluent in English
3. Experience acquired in auditing environment or multinational companies (manufacturing, energy, construction, etc.) of 2 years
4. Good knowledge of system SAP (not mandatory)
5. Good Excel knowledge & capabilities
6. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and efficient communication skills, as well as initiative and proactiveness
7. Ability to work under pressure, in a changing environment
