Additionally, the Head Sommelier plays a key role in creating and maintaining the wine list, ensuring quality and alignment with the establishment's concept.What will I be doing?As a Head Sommelier, you will be primarily responsible for leading your team, ensuring deep and current knowledge of wines, and providing an excellent guest and member experience.
You will also be key in achieving the department's targets.
Your specific responsibilities will include:Leading and training the sommelier team, ensuring high standards of service and knowledge.Providing professional and up-to-date wine recommendations to guests, tailored to the menu and personal preferences.Creating and reviewing wine pairings to complement specific dishes, enhancing the dining experience.Describing and promoting wines in an engaging way to improve customer experience and maximize sales.Collaborating with the kitchen team to suggest wines for new menus within the established financial budget.Maintaining a professional demeanor with an emphasis on hospitality and guest service.Ensuring accurate billing.Assisting in defining and achieving the department's financial targets.Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in compliance with licensing and liquor regulations.Ensuring compliance with hotel security, fire regulations, and all relevant health and safety legislation.Participating in training provided by the hotel to stay updated with industry trends and best practices
