Role Overview: As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, service, and support of Rapiscan X-ray screening systems. Your primary focus will be on supporting all X-ray and Trace product lines at airports. Key responsibilities include:
- Installation, commissioning, and service support of Rapiscan's X-ray systems.
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on-site.
- Ensuring technical procedures are followed and PMs and CMs are carried out in accordance with technical recommendations.
- Attending all call-outs.
- Working on a shift pattern to support customer sites.
- Completing documentation and service orders correctly and promptly.
- Submitting service reports and non-conformance reports without delay.
- Contributing to the traceability of spare parts and accurate stock counting.
- Acting as the site representative of Rapiscan, establishing strong and trustworthy relationships with customers.
- Learning from IT Specialists about server setup and PLC engineers for integration and commissioning, and becoming proficient.
- Ensuring systems are permanently accurate and optimized.
- Participating in other departmental ad-hoc duties, including special projects.
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong communication skills with excellent written and oral ability.
- Excellent ability to troubleshoot complex systems and logically work through problems.
- Flexibility during times of change and prompt, efficient reaction to project adjustments.
- Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure.
- Ability to obtain airport security passes (some require a Criminal Record check).
Knowledge, Training, and Qualifications:
- An engineering electrical diploma.
- Good English language skills: spoken, written, and communication.
- General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronics is desirable.
