About you and this role
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to become an Asset Integrity Engineer at Dow.
The Asset Integrity Engineer documents the Regulatory Inspection needs according to National Regulation( DL 131/2019) in the plant or facility and make sure they are completed.
Own and manage the regulatory inspection schedule for the plant or facility.
Interface with Production to schedule and execute the inspections .
Interface with National Agency (IPQ) and Notified Body. Elaborates and drive the Site Assets Regulatory Compliance Strategy .
Partners with the equipment owner to ensure compliance with Dow Global Mechanical Integrity Safety Standard and meet fixed asset reliability targets.
Drives compliance and continuous reliability improvement for all assets across the site or facility.
Provides engineering support to address plant issues that are impacting production over a short period of time. Provides technical expertise which may be equipment based or repair technique based that impacts the availability and maintainability of the facility.
Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.
Responsibilities
1. Serves as a subject matter expert in National regulation (DL131/2019)
2. Serves as a subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
3. Develops maintenance operating discipline.
4. Provides technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.
5. Ensures that work requests include engineering input on repair details and if necessary, provides onsite/offsite technical support for deviations from this data, for equipment that is critical for the process.
6. Ensures repairs, repair techniques and equipment specific training are documented and made available.
7. Provides maintainability input to Global Project Methodology activities.
8. Supports the preventive maintenance coordinator, as required, in reviewing spare parts list for existing equipment.
9. Enters quality, service and product performance information into the reporting system.
10. Participates in developing the maintenance budget to support the maintenance strategy.
11. Provides engineering input for work packages to ensure standards are followed, as required. Provides input on development of work orders during development of turnaround work particularly on critical equipment requiring engineering review or input.
12. Provides equipment reliability and performance data to the technical resource networks for input into equipment purchasing requirements, evaluation of equipment performance, vendor performance, and modifications to MET.
13. Completes EH&S orientation and all required training. Exhibits safe work behaviors and works safely without injury or insult to the environment. Fulfills all requirements of the production area and/or maintenance area EH&S.
14. Supports Industrial Hygiene and other EH&S work process activities. Incorporates safety considerations in planning and maintenance implementation. Understands impact of process chemistry with respect to materials of construction or lubrication.
15. Uses maintenance spending, reliability, and maintenance metrics for assigned area. Understands objectives of the Facility Maintenance Strategy for assigned areas and relevant history of equipment failures.
16. Analyzes impact of equipment failures on maintenance spending to identify improvement opportunities. Initiates reliability related MOCs and effectively implement change in own area of responsibility in coordination with appropriate leadership. Understands principles of Long Term Cost of Ownership. Analyzes and troubleshoots maintenance spending in assigned area with coaching
Qualifications
17. You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Material Science / Metallurgical Engineer.
18. You have at least 3 years of experience
19. You speak fluent Portuguese and English. Spanish is a plus.
