Head of Reporting Finance

Our client is a company operating in the energy sector, with an international presence. They are looking for a Head of Reporting Finance who will be part of their global team, based in Lisbon.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure and coordinate the timely preparation of accurate consolidated financial statements in compliance with applicable standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP) and aligned with the group's operations;
* Manage financial reporting timelines to meet internal and external stakeholder requirements;
* Collaborate with the Consolidation Director to enhance reporting processes, including integrating renewable energy-specific metrics;
* Lead and mentor finance managers across several countries to ensure alignment with corporate financial objectives;
* Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within finance teams;
* Oversee performance evaluations and provide development opportunities for regional finance teams;
* Oversee the financial health and operational efficiency of the finance function, focusing on renewable energy project dynamics;
* Implement robust internal controls to ensure compliance with international financial standards;
* Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost optimization, and efficiency enhancements within finance operations;
* Manage relationships with external accounting service providers to ensure compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements;
* Monitor and evaluate the performance of external providers, making recommendations for improvements where necessary;
* Manage contracts with external service providers, including negotiation and renewal processes;
* Build and maintain strong professional relationships with external providers to foster collaboration and address any issues promptly;
* Ensure adherence to international and local regulatory standards, tax laws, and renewable energy-specific financial regulations;
* Stay informed about changes in renewable energy financing, tax incentives, and sustainability reporting requirements.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification is preferred;
* Minimum 10 years of experience in finance, including roles in financial reporting and control within a multinational context;
* Experience in the renewable energy sector or infrastructure-related finance;
* Proven track record of managing multi-country finance teams and working with external accounting providers;
* Strong understanding of international accounting standards;
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple providers and tasks simultaneously;
* Proficiency in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills;
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders;
* High attention to detail and ability to manage complex reporting requirements;
* Willingness to travel as required.
