At Logbatind Baterias Industriais, a Sunlight Group company, we take pride in being a leading provider of industrial batteries and chargers in Portugal. As we continue to grow in this dynamic sector, we are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures for Logbatind Baterias Industriais & Sunlight Spain.
The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with financial regulations.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
* Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Working Capital management.
* Hands-on management of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes to support decision-making.
* Prepare timely monthly financial statements & management reporting requirements.
* Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
* Manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings.
* Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
* Manage the cash flow and maintain strong relationships with local banks.
* Closely cooperate with the HQ with regards to statutory reporting, management reporting, financial planning and analysis, group accounting and internal policies & procedures.
* Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
* Support month-end and year-end close process.
* Additional controller duties as necessary.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
* 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
* ACCA / CPA recognition is nice to have.
* Proven ability to develop and implement effective financial controls and processes.
* Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Office Suite.
* Fluency in English & Spanish (written and verbal).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
* A positive, confident and analytical mindset.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
